A really bad result...

I participated in the local 10k run in Stadtbergen today. The course is pancake flat, three laps to run. My goal was to stay sub 38min but... 16 C at the Start in the shade if there would have been any... Full sun out, really warm. No aid station (= no water, nothing to cool down), which would have been easy to install, I think. First km went by in 3:38 min, second was 3:54 min and then the warm hit me really hard. Pace slowed down to 4:20 min/km, slower than my Marathon pace 3 weeks ago. Many runners, including the first woman, Petra, overtook me. Needless to say that the little pride I had left inside told me to finish the darn thing. Crossed the line in 41:06 min. My take away: I will not run hard under such conditions any more. Period. Christiane did much better and finished first in her age group! Congratulations, my darling!
