Changes ahead

My blog has been slow over the last weeks and as expected, there was not much of an outcry because of this :-). As most of my readers (I mean you, Bernd!) know, I will return to Germany in Jan 2019. Means, that my running training soon will change from sweating at moderate speed to hopefully covering -again- a wider range of running speeds.
Chiangmai Marathon is planned to be an enjoyable fun run with our friends from Singapore and Penang. Will mark the good bye to astonishing 3 years of sports in the heat.
For 2019 I decided to tackle a sub-3hr Marathon in fall. Spring is too close to seriously consider it. My fading in Frankfurt showed me that I need to train harder and smarter for the cruel last 10k.
I hope being able to run a solid Marathon in Hanover, targeting a sub 3:15 (which did not work out in Frankfurt!). As for the training, I am considering going with a professional coach. I guess I'll need some cross fit training, some mobility and stretching advice on top of the all too well known Marathon running training regime. Let's see whats in the bag!
By the way, our mixed team finished 3rd in the Round the Island Relay 2018 last week. I had the honour being the first runner (of 6 women + 6 men), covering 7,8km in 31:20min. We came in 5th overall. thats a great result! Unfortunately, the race was overshadowed by a freak accident which involved a drunken(?) car driver and two innocent people on a motorcycle. Both fighting for their life. I hope and pray form them that they will be able to live a normal life again.
