7 laps around the palace...

because I could not run Shinjuku HM today I ran in Tokyo.I covered the 35k in 2:32. Last lap went by in 21min, no sprint today at the end. Last week with the group of Namban it was more fun compared to running by my own today. Next Sunday I will run Kanagawa HM.

My rule of thumb always is that 35k in your marathon goal time is a very decent pact for a long run. So are you shooting for sub 2:35 now?

Hi Carsten,
I am very happy that you visit my running Blog, Willkommen! Wenn Du mit liest, bin ich gleich doppelt motiviert!
I train with a new web-based program vic-system.com Here, the LDLs are always quit fast.
I would love to stay sub 2:40 one day, but it surely will not be at Tokyo...

Ah, vicsystem, I see. In case you have not seen it yet: There is a long discussion of this on what used to be the Laufen-Aktuell board, http://forum.runnersworld.de/forum/showthread.html?t=26436 What do you think of vicsystem?

Are the long runs with vicsystem also that long, or did you change that? Because, really, 35K in 2:35 seems very hard to me. I would only want to do that if I am already in really good shape. Which you apparently are, as you have also shown in November. Congratulations and thanks for the report and pictures on our club's website!

Carsten,
the LDLs in vicsystem are changing every week like: 25k, 32k, 35k and 38k. Ca. 35 sec/km slower than planned M-pace. When I started vicsystem, the first 2 or 3 LDLs felt VERY hard but after a month or two they get easier.

Ahh, didn't know you were training in town. Maybe a good thing that I didn't know as I don't think I could have stayed with you at that pace and it probably would have done me more harm than good. As it was, I ended up putting the emphasis on just distance (clocked up 37 km) and the pace was pretty slow. I do hope that you and Paddy can work out the starting situation at Tokyo, but I'm not sure how you will.
