Christiane finished in 3:57 and I 2:56. Paddy 2:58, Christian 2:49, Steve 2:58...
We started in B block and had some traffic for the first 4k or so. At 5k we were 90 sec behind 3h scheduled pace, not too bad at all. Passed the HM mark in 1:29:45. At km28 I tried to speed up as much as I could and maintained a 4min pace until 39k. Last 3k were pretty hard and I slowed down to 4:12 pace, darn... Need to work on my legs more from now on.
Anyway, very happy with the day. Paddy ran sub3 which was our first target. Gerard ran a superb first marathon in 2:56. Again, the GPS watch did not work properly, have no idea why.
Here are my splits:
| 5km | 00:23:08 | ||
| 10km | 00:44:17 | 0:21:09 | |
| 15km | 01:05:12 | 0:20:55 | |
| 20km | 01:26:20 | 0:21:08 | |
| 25km | 01:47:39 | 0:21:19 | |
| 30km | 02:08:27 | 0:20:48 | |
| 35km | 02:28:28 | 0:20:01 | |
| 40km | 02:49:27 | 0:20:59 | |
| Finish | 02:58:46 | 0:09:19 |

Congratulations, great running!
My GPS was inaccurate, too. All the skyscrapers made it quite difficult for such a small device... This was one of the reasons why I had quite some troubles pacing the first 10k, I did not know that I am depending that much on it! No problem for you I guess, much more experienced.
Another job well done, Joachim. I just compared our splits and there was a lot of similarity there but you had a strong 25-30 and blistering 30-35 (a full minute faster than me), though I was still very happy with my pace on that split. We covered the last 2.2k at almost identical pace, so even if you think you slowed, you were still holding three-hour pace. That was perhaps the point I was most happy about in this race for myself. To finish doing three-hour pace is a good race. We have some way to go to catch up to Yoshida-san, but I'm sure you can get closer than me.
