Hitting home...

Ran Öpfingen HM today and finished in 1:23:12, 22nd overall, 4th in age group. Was a good race. 8 C, no rain, some wind but bearable. Here are my splits: 19:12(5k), 38:47(10k), 58:50(15k), 1:18:43(20k). The course is pretty flat and I started out a tiny little bit too fast, I think. 2nd km was 3:45 and 3rd was 3:49. I tried to stay with a group of 5 runners but had to slow down a little after 5km. Had to run the windy sections on my own (stupid me!). Only the last stretch from 17k-19k three runners took turns and helped each other. The race is suited for young runners because it looked like that they all get trophies in the Award ceremony somehow. I did not get a trophy since I finished 4th. Don't complain, Joachim, get faster...!
