well, it is a few weeks to Tokyo but nevertheless, my plan calls for the first long run.
Vic System (vic-system.com) plans these runs quit fast, so I had to do 32k in 4:34min/km pace.
Well temperatures and wind were favorable. The last 5k I had to push a little but it was not that bad as expected (or feared ;-) ).
I used the virtual partner function of my Garmin and took this picture after the run.
It says (for non-Germans): Success, your average pace 4:34/km.
Feel a little tired but also happy with the run.

Joachim,
I read this post yesterday but couldn't comment as I was just too jealous that you had the motivation and ability to get out and do this hard run. Really great job!
Referring to your comment on my blog, yes I do have a bit of a cold and the throat was sore yesterday morning. I thought I wasn't going to run, but eventually got out in the afternoon and managed a bit over 20 km at average of 4:45/km. I think I will try for 25 to 30km at 4:40/k next Sunday, all going well. I am looking forward to getting in three weeks of heat and hill training in Australia!
Steve,
thanks for your comment. Well, as I said, the last 5k I had to push ;-))
I was astonished as well that I could keep that pace till the end!
Australia will be quit a change for both of us. I am looking forward to our vacation and for you it will be a Homerun ;-)
Hope to see you on Wednesday on the track. I plan doing 14x600m/400m in 3:14 pace. U are in?
