running experiment...

Yesterday I tried something very new for me. It was quit some experience, I have to say. Wednesday is track training but my training plan called for 15k in 4:48min/km. Well, since I wanted to see Namban people I decided to do the 15k on the track. But I tried something new: I took my brand new ipod with me and listened to various music to see the impact on my running performance. First 7k I listened to Paul Simon, Rhythm of the Saints. What should I say, I could hold the pace at ca. 4:45min/km without any problem. Very relaxed running except for all the High School kids who passed me ;-) At 8km I switched to the Scorpions, Crazy World. Guess everybody can image what happened. Yes, speed went up to ca. 4:25min/km with a final k in 3:55min. Downside was, that Juergen called me and I did not hear him due to the music. Well, I will check out what music Paula Radcliff is listening to. Should save me at least 5min in the Marathon ;-))
