The new year started this week. I decided to go to bed early on Sunday. The picture of the firework was taken by our neighbours. They stayed up to watch it. Looks like I missed something đ.
Monday morning I was up at 5:15am to do my first long run of the week. Clocked a total of 30km. Went ok without any issues. Added a few more morning runs and another long run of 32k yesterday for a total of 108km this week. My training partner clocked 110km. Well, you can't win every time, can you :-). Legs still feel reasonably fresh. The speed is not there but I won't need speed for the Penang Eco 100k in May.
Garmin Fenix is still telling me that my fitness is getting worst. This might be true in fact due to the high mileage. VO2max is reduced to 40 and the load is high again. Will observe the development carefully. Next week I plan to run a few times in the morning and also mix in some speed work. Lets see how this will go. I planned to check out the terrain of the Penang Eco this weekend. Unfortunately, the area is still closed due to the latest land slides during the rainy season. I hope they will open it soon. I will give you some insights into the terrain as soon as possible.
Plan to participate in a 15k trail race in February and do a 4h hilly run end of March. Stay tuned, more to come soon!
