Just a short update: Last week went OK, could cover 95km including a 30k run @ 4:40/min pace. Weather was good for running: rainy and cloudy. Hope the weather will stay this week as it was last week. It's rainy season, so I may get lucky with not too much sunshine. Next Sunday, a group of Nambans will run Ome trail run. Everybody who is interested, send me an email or comment this post. Regarding the planned Ultra, I am considering about my foot wear now. Socks and shoes, but which one to wear? Should I try running without socks to keep the foot temperature down? Modern running shoes are quit soft inside and it may not be needed wearing socks at all. And how about the shoes? A lot of cushioning is needed like with the ASICS Gel-1120 (397 gr.) which will add a lot of weight or can I get away with a light shoe like the Saucony Grid Tangent (306 gr) ?
A lot of Questions...! Keep you posted...

Maybe try 2130s ...
There is also, unless it has been discontinued, an Asics model called Saroma, which is named after that lake and race. Designed to be just that intermediate weight shoe for ultras. I used a couple of pairs as training shoes early in my running career and was quite happy with them.
Steve,
I will look for those shoes.
I used the Saucony for some time now and they feel very comfi but I will not decide on the shoes for now...
