Well, currently, I am a little in the middle of nowhere. Why? Hmm, I applied for the Niigata 100km run, my first Ultra. After announcing this to my trainer, the famous vicsystem(tm), I was told to run a Marathon every weekend from now on. Gosh, I should have known better that this! Of course, during my Marathon preparation I am running 35k routinely at a not too slow pace. And to be honest, these 35k are never all out. However, mentally, I NEVER cover the whole classical distance of 42.195km during a training run. You just don't do this, PERIOD. But, vic tells me to run a darn Marathon every single weekend for the next 2 months. OK, there will be some weekends with just 30k or so, great. I ran already two M the last 2 weeks. Soon, Marathon won't be anything special any more, I fear. I mean the distance won't be that thrill anymore.
On the other hand, the M distance isn't that special, right/wrong?
I am confused, to say the least. Don't know where this will lead me...
We'll see. Keep you updated.
In any case, I decided to run Niigata Ultra 100km for two great guys: Steven and Ryan.
More to follow...
