Obuse mi ni Marathon

Obuse, a nice, little town close to Nagano is the yearly summer Highlight tour for the Nambans. Mami and Gery organized the trip perfectly, thx Mami and Gary, great job!
The Carbo loading dinner was held in a great Italian restaurant.
The race started at 7:20 the next morning, but surely the temperatures reached the 30 C mark easily during the run. I planned to run with Rie but I could not find her at the starting line. So, I changed my plan and ran together with Christiane. She could maintain a strong pace around 5:00-5:15min/km but slowed down a little at the end due to the heat. I suffered as well despite the moderate pace. Had to sweat a lot and drank quite some water. After the run I had great shower in the water fountain at the finish area. After a chat with the Nambans I ran back to the starting area adding another 7km or so. From the afternoon on every minute was pure fun. Sake tasting, great dinner in a great Ryokan, evening party. Next morning big breakfast again, morning run to the spectacular water fall. Well, just a perfect weekend...!
