A shorter long run today

This morning I went to Batu Ferrenghi to meet up with Claire. We planned on doing 30+k by running to the Fruit Garden, back and adding some final km running to the National Park and back. We started at 5:30am and at this time it is of course pretty dark. There are some street lights and we did not really need our head lamps. But it is always good to bring them just in case. After 6k into the run, a dog decided to hitch a hike with us. I am sure he wanted to cross some "other dogs" territory. He always stayed a few meters ahead of us, avoiding the cars and motorbikes. He followed us almost to the end of our way out and vanished into the dark after running 6km with us. After 13k we reached the highest point of the Teluk Bahang and decided to turn back. The route is basically a 13k uphill followed by a 13k downhill (200HM eat direction) as you can see in the chart below. After 20k we didn't feel that great and so we decided to cut the run short. Did a total of 26k. Still pretty happy with the result since my heart rate was low even towards the end. Could breath through my nose all the time keeping 6min pace.
Tomorrow I plan to do the Laksamana trail, 10k from the dam to Penang hill. Keep you posted.
