Respect for all the Ultras!

This morning I started at 5:15am heading to the Penang Hill, hiking up two times and returning back to base. When I arrived at the entrance of the hill it was still dark. Put my headlamp to good use while  hiking on the tar road. this time I wanted to cover the elevation gain and not focus too much on the hiking part. After 1hr of run/walk/hike I arrived at the top of the hill. Still, everything was dark but already they started to set up a lot of equipment for a show to take place later. After a few minutes up there I started my decent. 40 min later I arrived at the entrance. The 5k downhill was pretty ok but now I had to get up to the hill top again. Started to eat some Mulebar and salt tablets to reduce the risk of cramping. Got up the hill within the hour and on the top I had a short brake again. On my way back down I bumped into Eileen, who is a real Ultra Runner. She is training for Gopeng 100k Ultra and other real Ultra stuff. I went up with Eileen again and we had a cold drink together.
Finally I had to get back down and home, which took me another 1:20min. Could run most of the distance besides the fact that the sun got out and got really hot.
Total time on my feed was 4h45min, covering 32k (only!). GARMIN says I did 43164 steps. Yes, it feels like this, have to admit.

Ok, this week I did a total of 100km which is basically the Penang Eco 100k distance I want to cover early May. Still, I have no idea how to cover this distance within 1 day. Will find it out soon.
