A day, a week, a month, a year...

Guess I need to follow the title of the post. Otherwise, I will get confused by all the things which happened in 2017. As Einstein said: " Time was invented so that not everything happens at once."
Ok, then lets go: This Sunday was pretty flawless, have to admit. Woke up at 1:45am this morning, got ready to roll and was at the Esplanade by 3:20am. The Round the Island Relay (RIR) flagged off at 4am and I was the first runner of our mixed team (6 female+6 male). Can you spot me in the picture?
The course is very scenic, but also very dark for the first 2,5hr.

In the photo, you see most of us.
I ran the longest leg (7,8km) with a little bit of an uphill stretch towards the end. Brought my ice pack and applied it on the legs and the head during the run which worked nicely. I finished in 32:21 (4:09min/km). Not bad given the fact that I didn't do any tempo training yet. Handed the baton over to Will, got on my motorbike and after following Will and Chin Chin (leg 3), Chin Chin and myself accompanied our team on my motorbike around the island. Circling the island with the runners was a pretty cool experience. Our team finished strong as the 5th mixed team overall!
The last week was also pretty successful. With the help of all the Xmas days I could run a total of 104km including a 30k, a 25k and a 20k run. Had to sleep a lot. The Fenix 5X is not so happy with this week, I guess. My training load is >3000 units (no idea what exactly a unit is composed of, who can help me how Garmin is calculating this?).
I shall rest for 4 days. "I'm sorry, Fenix. I'm afraid I can't do that."
The month of December turned out to be quite cool. Temperatures in the high 29C. Cloudy, some rain. 2017 brought me back running. What will 2018 bring? Hopefully finishing the Penang Eco 100km trail in May. I am sure I will have some good company during my training runs and fun at the upcoming races.
Onwards...!
