A running seminar

Today, Christiane and I could attend a running seminar at Nihon University. Thank you, Chiba-san, for arranging. Our Sense was Yamanichi-san, a former Hakone Ekiden runner, who is now in his 60s but looks much younger. The lecture was in japanese but Yuko-san, a helpful japanese lady in here mid 20th translated the lecture in perfect english. No wonder, she lived in Kiwi for 10 years. What a coincidence ;-)
The lecture was very vivid and his ten points were:
1. listen to your body
2. correct breathing
3. take care of your legs
4. First walk...,
5. then jogg, the run... ;-)
6. run every day, 5 min is OK for a start, later you can run up to 5 hours if you want ;-)
7. listen to your heard
8. get a training plan
9. variety (course, time, speed, etc.)
10. set some goals, e.g. balance hobby, yourself and competition.

It was very inspiring. Yuko-san, who is a Belly Dancer (!) by hobby, was inspired as well.
Later, we all went for a jog around Imperial Palace. Unfortunately, we had to leave in the afternoon due to my work. The Olympic Medalist, Yuko Arimori, showed up later for a chat.
