I planned on riding with the Königsbrunn Triathlon group today. They start at 9am and usually ride for 2-3 hrs. But since they did not return my email I decided to sleep in :-) and start a little later. The so called "Triathlon ride" seemed interesting. It's a pretty flat course with two decent inclines. The roads here are clean, a few broken glass bottles here and there, that's all what I could see. But the main problem is that they have special bike roads in the city. These roads are not suitable (I repeat: NOT suitable) for road cycles. Dangerous crossings, big holes on the pavements, ridiculous red lights. If you try to ride on the street you get honked at all the time. Now I understand why there is a report about a killed bike rider in the newspaper almost every day! I will choose the less frequented streets in the future. But, Guangzhou cyclists, believe me: University city is heaven compared to the streets of Königsbrunn!
